Awake and arise, you wonderful Genea-Musings blog-readers, and know that it is Saturday Night - time again for more Genealogy Fun!
We all have "brick wall ancestors" - those for whom we cannot find a complete name, or identify a set of parents. By posting information about a "brick wall ancestor," someone mght find your post and be able to contribute to your knowledge about that ancestor.
Your mission, should you decide to accept it (and I sincerely hope that you do) - is to check your files and sources, advance to your keyboard, and:
1) Identify one of your "brick wall ancestors," and tell us about him or her. What do you know? What would you like to know?
I would love to find the parents of John Jackie Vanderpool. He was born in North Carolina about 1805, and married Nancy Campbell. There has bee quite a lot of research on John's ancestors and no one has yet to find any proof for the parents of John. The Vanderpool group has settled on Anthony Vanderpool for John's father but there is no proof to support this other than he fits between the other children is their only proof, but he fits in four other Vanderpool families also.

Carnival of Genealogy Scrapbooking
I am really not into scrapbooking, but my mom did this scrapbook on our trip to the Seattle Worlds Fair in 1962. We had neighbors in Spokane for years that moved to north of Seattle a few years before the Worlds Fair and we went and stayed with them and drove to the fair each day we were there.
The top is a postcard showing how the fair was to look like when it opened. At the bottom the purple ticket is from the 76 Skyride, admit one 50 cents. The other 76 ticket says I rode the 76 Skyride at the Seattle Worlds Fair
This is a map of the Seattle Worlds Fairgrounds done by Standard Oil Company of California. The outdoor stadium (#30 on the map) had water around near the outside going all around and they had water skiing shows when we were there. Near the bottom of the Space Needle was a stand selling Belgian waffles, and so nearly everyone in line for the Space Needle was eating a Belgian waffle while we waited.
The last scan is the end of the previous map, it was too big for my scanner, but it shows all the places we visited. The pink circles were ones we wanted to see and the checks are the ones we saw.

Wordless Wednesday Feeding the Chipmonk
This is another picture from my Great Aunt Latisha Vanderpool's album. There are about 3 pages of Glacier Park pictures, but on the back of each is a copyright, so I moved on a few pages and there is another set of Yellowstone pictures so I will start here.
This one says on back Feeding the Chip monk, and the front Rock, Yellowstone Park, this one is not dated but in with a group from 1941.

Saturday Night Fun Dream Genealogy Vacation
Greetings, genealogy dreamers! It's Saturday Night - time for more Genealogy Fun!
Have you been following Becky Wiseman on her kinexxions blog as she travels around the USA? Now, she's going into western Canada and north to Alaska. It's her dream trip, although she is not doing a lot of genealogy research along the way. Her trip inspired this SNGF challenge.
Your mission tonight, should you decide to accept it, is to:
1) Think hard about the genealogy research trip that you would take if money were no object. Where would you go, how long would you stay, what research would you do? What is your "dream research trip?"
I guess my dream genealogical vacation would be to head back east and see where my early ancestors arrived and lived for a while. I have several families in New England, and then heading south to New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and finally North Carolina. While in North Carolina I would do some searching for my John Jackie Vanderpool to see if I could find his parents. Then head towards Missouri where several families congregated before heading to Washington.
P.S. I have been following Becky Wiseman on her kinexxions and really like her pictures, keep them coming Becky.

Don't have a clue who Ursula K. Le Guin is!! Wikipedia has a nice page on her, still don't know much about her.

Wordless Wednesday Logan Pass Blizzard
Blogversary for Mikkel's Hus
Hardly seems like a whole year ago I wrote my first post, but the archives says it was on July 13, 2009. I had written a few posts before this as one of the team bloggers for the Eastern Washington Genealogical Society blog, but to start my own blog was an interesting step. I am rather shy in person, but have been online for a long time so not shy at all online any more. This is post number 172, I have made 79 so far for 2010 and 93 for 2009. Probably my favorites are for the Carnival of Genealogy, but the most popular are those I wrote for the Christmas Advent series. I have tried to do a lot of the Saturday Night Fun posts, and those are usually pretty fun also. Thanks for the inspiration Randy.
It has been an interesting year also, I have learned a lot about blogging, and follow about 150 blogs now, quite a few are not genealogy related (blasphemy I know), but interesting to follow anyway. I want to thank Miriam Robbins for helping me learn to blog and also for all the other bloggers for just being an example to follow.
